경북도지부(지부장:김영화)는 5월 2일 도지부장을 중심으로 월례회의를 가졌으며  5월 25일에는 다문화가족들과 후원자들이 한자리에 모여 경복궁과 민속박물관을 견학하는 ‘한국역사 문화탐방’ 행사를 진행하였다. 이 행사는 문화누리 바우처 지원사업으로 경북도지부가 앞장서서 주선하여 다문화가족, 후원자등 250 여 명이 참석  한 가운데 진행되었다.

경주지부(지부장:김영화)는 4월 14일, 보문 KT연수원에서 ‘경주시민 통일아카데미 개강식’을 개최 하였다. 이날 개강식은 노부꼬 시부지부장의 사회로 시작되었으며 국민의례, 순국순열의 대한 묵념, 김영화 지부장(경북)의 환영인사와 귀빈소개, 경북 글로벌 드림센터 레인보우 합창단의 축가, 임선동 강사의 ‘통일이 미래다’라는 주제강연 순으로 진행되었다. 이날 행사에는 최양식 시장 사모인 민자란 여사와, 최방남 회장(경주시 보훈단체협의회), 김동관 교수(동국대), 장영길 교수(서라벌대), 각 단체장, 시장, 도의원, 시의원 후보자등 100명이 참석하였다. 또한 5월 10일에는 경주시 황성공원에서 열린 사랑 나눔 벼룩장터에서 ‘지구가족사랑1%운동’ 활동으로 먹거리 떡(인절미)과 감주, 옷과 생활용품을 판매하였다.

구미시 선산읍지부(지부장:신귀남이)는 5월 18일, 선산읍 이문리 쉼터를 청소하는 봉사활동을 했다. 이날 지부장 외 6명의 회원들은 선산읍 이문리 쉼터에서 평화세계를 위해 이웃과 함께 더불어 사는 삶의 터전부터 깨끗이 하자는 의미를 가지고 환경미화 활동을 했다.

안동시지부(지부장:이금자)는 4월 23일, 전주도지부를 방문하여 쑥뜸봉사에 대한 성공사례 보고를 들으며 사용법과 교육을 받는 시간을 가졌다. 또한 5월 7일에는 지역주민들을 위한 노래교실 수업을 진행하였다.

김천시지부(지부장:요시다 미지꼬)는 4월 30일~5월 1일까지 세월호 침몰 사고 가족을 위해 작은 도움을 주고 싶은 마음으로 김천지부 회원들은 2일간의 모금운동을 가졌다.

Activities of the North Gyeongsang Branch

The North Gyeongsang Branch (Branch Leader: Yeong Hwa Kim) held their monthly meeting on May 2, led by the provincial branch leader, and on May 25 they hosted the ‘Korean History and Culture Tour’, where multicultural families and sponsors gathered together to take a field trip to Gyeong Bok Palace and the National Folk Museum. This event was sponsored by theMunhwa Nuri Vouchers and led by the North Gyeongsang Branch, and was attended by more than 250 members of multicultural families and sponsors.

The Gyeongju Branch (Branch Leader: Yeong Hwa Kim) held the ‘Opening Ceremony of the Gyeongju Residents Unification Academy’ at the Bomun KT Training Center on April 14. The ceremony was begun by the MC, Branch Leader Nobuko Shibu, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, a silent prayer for patriotic martyrs, welcoming remarks by Branch Leader Yeong Hwa Kim (North Gyeongsang Province) and an introduction of the VIPs, congratulatory songs sung by the Rainbow Choir of the North Gyeongsang Province Global Dream Center, and the keynote speech delivered by Lecturer Seon Dong Yim titled ‘Unification is the Future’. The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including Mrs. Ja Ran Min, the wife of Mayor Yang Shik Choi, President Bang Nam Choi (Gyeongju Association of Veterans and Patriots), Professor Dong Gwan Kim (Dongguk University), Professor Yeong Gil Jang (Seorabeol University), heads of organizations, and election candidates for the posts of mayor, provincial assembly persons and city council persons. In addition, on May10 they took part in the Love-Sharing Flea Market  held at Hwangseong Park, Gyeongju, where they sold foodstuffs like rice cakes (coated with bean flour), sweet rice drinks, articles of clothing, and daily necessities as a part of their activities for the ‘1% Love Share Project’.

The Seonsan-eup Branch (Branch Leader: Gui Nam Yi Shin) of Gumi carried out a cleaning service at the Yimun-ri Shelter in Seonsan-eup on May 18. On this day, the branch leader and six other members carried out environment beautification work at the Yimun-ri Shelter in Seonsan-eup, which signified cleaning up the grounds of life where we live together with our neighbors, as the starting point for bringing about a world of peace.

The Andong Branch (Branch Leader: Geum Ja Lee) visited the Jeonju Province Branch on April 23 to learn about the successful results of a moxa treatment service and to attend a class on how to perform moxa treatment. In addition, on May 7 they held a singing class for local residents.

Members of the Gimcheon Branch (Branch Leader: Mitsiko Yoshida) carried out a fundraising event for two days from April 30 to May 1 in their desire to help the bereaved families of the victims of the Sewol Ferry disaster.
