구리지부(공동지부장:채미호, 아미오 미찌에)는 지난 1월 3일, 구리시 체육관에서 구리시 공공기관 및 단체가 함께한 ‘구리시 신년인사회’와 구리시 여성단체협의회에서 개최한 ‘어르신 사랑 나눔 행사’에 여성연합 구리지부를 대표하여 채미호 지부장 외 3명 회원이 참석하였다. 또한 1월 13일에는 다문화센터에서 오규영 교수(선문대학 통합의과대학원)를 초청하여 ‘가족치료-가족세우기’ 프로그램에 20명의 회원들이 함께 하였다. 가족의 당면한 문제를 해결하고 건강한 가족을 만드는 방법을 배울 수 있는 시간을 가졌다. 1월 14일에는 구리시지부 주관으로 경기북부지부 신년하례회 및 1월 월례회의를 마친 후 지부장 및 40명의 회원들은 2014년 새해를 맞아 통일을 염원하는 마음으로 ‘통일기원제’를 올리는 시간을 가졌다.

덕양지부(지부장:윤순림)는 1월 25일, 7명의 회원들은 덕은동 노인회관에서 떡국 봉사를 실시하였다. 노인회관의 회원들에게 세계평화여성연합 활동에 대한 소개와 함께 ‘피스우먼’ 소식지를 전달해드렸다. 봉사의 마지막 순서로 일본회원들이 어르신들에게 한국 노래를 불러 드릴 때는 눈물을 흘리는 분도 계셨고 모두가 박수로 격려해 주시기도 하였다.

동두천지부(지부장:마쯔다 가쯔꼬)는 1월 15일과 22일에 동두천시 생연2동 부영아파트 단지내 경로당에서 청소 봉사활동을 했다.

의정부지부(지부장:임현순)는 1월 8일 의정부시 다문화가족지원센터에 도서관을 개관하였다. 이날 개관식에서는 결혼이주여성들이 각 나라 전통 의상을 입고 전통 음식 만들어주는 이벤트를 진행하여 참석자들에게 많은 관심을 받았다.

청평지부(지부장:박영자)는 1월 13일, 청평1리 노인정 청소 봉사를 하면서 추운 날씨임에도 불구하고 오래된 페인트를 벗겨내고 새롭게 페인트칠을 하는 봉사를 전개했다. 청평지부는 청평5리 노인정에서 매월 2회 꾸준히 청소봉사를 하고 있으며, 매월 둘째 주 목요일에는 효도원에서 식사 봉사를 하고 있다.

화도지부(지부장:권선화)는 2014년 1월 26일 ‘2014 평화통일 기원제’를 화도지부 강당에서 가졌다. 이날 기원제는 헌화, 기원가 합창, 분단 현장 영상 시청, 통일의 노래 순으로 진행되었다. 기원제를 마치고 2부에서는 풍물단과 함께 마당놀이를 가졌으며 떡 10말 준비하여 지역주민들과 함께 나누는 통일 기원 시간을 가졌다.

남양주지부(지부장:노양숙)는 2014년 1월 27일 남양주 퇴계원 노인정의 어르신들을 위해 헤어 커트와 해피헬스 치료 및 맛사지 봉사를 지부장과 회원 13명이 함께 하였다.

The North  Gyeonggi Branch

The Guri Branch(Co-Branch Leaders:Mi Ho Chae, Mitsie Amio) took part in the ‘Guri City New Year’s Greeting Ceremony’, together with people from the public institutions and organizations of Guri, and the ‘Love-sharing Event for Senior Citizens’ hosted by the Women’s Council of Guri, held on January 3 at the Guri Gymnasium. Branch Leader Mi Ho Chae and three members attended the events as representatives of the WFWP-Guri Branch.

In addition, on January 13 they invited Prof. Gyu Yeong Oh (Sun Moon Graduate School of Integrated Medical Sciences) to hold a program titled ‘Healing the Family - Establishing the Family’ at the Multicultural Center, which was attended by twenty members. It was a meaningful time for them to learn ways of making healthy families by resolving pressing problems in the family.

On January 14, the North Gyeonggi Province Branch held the New Year’s Ceremony and the monthly meeting for January, which were hosted by the Guri Branch. Afterwards, the branch leader and forty members held the ‘Unification Prayer Ceremony’ in preparation for the coming of the year 2014, with a heart of yearning for unification.

The Deokyang Branch(Branch Leader:Soon Rim Yoon)served rice dumpling soup at Deokeun-dong Senior Citizens’ Hall on January 25. Seven members participated in the event, and they introduced the activities of the Women’s Federation for World Peace and handed out the ‘Peace Women’newsletter to the members of the Senior Citizens’ Hall. Lastly, Japanese members sang Korean songs to the elderly, and some were moved to tears and everyone in the audience encouraged them with loud applause.

The Dongducheon Branch(Branch Leader:Kazuko Mazda) carried out a cleaning service on January 15 and 22 at the Senior Center situated within the Buyeong Apartment Complex of Saengyeon 2-dong in Dongducheon.

The Euijeongbu Branch(Branch Leader:Hyeon Soon Yim) opened a library at the Euijeongbu Multicultural Families Support Center on January 8. At the opening ceremony held on this day, women immigrants  through international marriage wore the traditional costumes of their countries and held an event making their traditional food, which attracted much interest from the attendees.

The Cheongpyeong Branch(Branch Leader:Yeong Ja Park) carried out a cleaning service at the Senior Center in Cheongpyeong 1-ri on January 13. They also peeled off the old paint and newly painted the place, in spite of the cold weather. The Cheongpyeong Branch is also regularly carrying out a cleaning service at the Senior Center in Cheongpyeong 5-ri twice a month, and every second Thursday of every month they provide a soup kitchen service at Hyo Do Won.

The Hwado Branch(Branch Leader:Seon Hwa Gwon) held the ‘2014 Peace and Unification Prayer Ceremony’ on January 26, 2014  in the lecture hall of the Hwado Branch. The prayer ceremony held on this day included the presentation of floral tributes, the singing of the song of prayer, a video of the scene of Korea’s division, and the singing of the Song of Unification. After the prayer ceremony, in part two of the program, they had a Korean folk music performance given by a Korean musical instruments team, and they also prepared 100 kilograms of rice cakes to distribute to the local residents, all the while praying for unification.

The Namyangju Branch(Branch Leader:Yang Sook Noh) carried out a haircutting service as well as a Happy Health treatment and massage service for the residents of Twegyewon Elders’ Hall in Namyangju on January 27 2014, which was attended by the branch leader and thirteen members.
