성주군지부

경북 성주군지부(지부장:김순락)는 7월 16일 성주군 문화예술회관에서 개최된 제18회 여성주간 및 성주군 여성대회에 경북 성주지부 고다마 마유미 회원이 김항곤 군수로부터 봉사상을 수상하였다. 5년 전부터 꾸준히 봉사활동을 해 온 고다마 마유미 회원은 주 2회 군내의 지체부자유자, 정신박약자들을 대상으로 종이접기, 한지공예, 레크레이션, 북춤 등 다양한 봉사활동에 참여한 실적이 인정되어 봉사상을 수상하였다.

안동지부

경북 안동지부(지부장:이금자)는 6월 7일~8일 유정순 소장(다사랑 상담소)을 초청하여 부모 및 자녀교육을 실시하였다. 다문화가정 12가정과 자녀 10여명이 참석하였으며 눈물로 상처를 털어내고 사랑하기를 다시 배우는 시간이 되었다.

예천지부

예천지부(지부장:김태희)에서는 석가탄신일을 맞이하여 많은 불자들이 찾는 용문사에서 여성연합 팜플릿을 배부하면서 ‘지구가족사랑1%운동’ 활동을 하였다. 이날 후 회원들은 사찰의 설거지와 환경정리를 돕는 봉사도 함께 하였다. 농촌의 바쁜 일정으로 비록 활동시간은 짧았지만 회원 상호간의 단합하는 시간이 되었다.

Seongju-gun Branch

The Seongju-gun Branch (Branch Leader: Soon Rak Kim) of North Gyeongsang Province took part in the 18th Women’s Week and the Assembly of Women in Seongju-gun, held at the Seongju-gun Culture and Arts Center on July 16, where Ms. Mayumi Kodama of the Seongju Branch of North Gyeongsang Province was awarded the Volunteer Service Award by County Magistrate Hang Gon Kim. Ms. Kodama, who has continued to carry out volunteer work unceasingly for five years, won recognition for doing various kinds of service work, including visiting mentally disabled or mentally handicapped people twice a week in the countryside and teaching them origami, Korean paper art, recreation, and drum dance among other projects, and was thus awarded the Volunteer Service Award.

Andong Branch

The Andong Branch (Branch Leader: Geum Ja Lee) of North Gyeongsang Province invited Director Jeong Soon Yu (Multi-love Guidance Office) to hold a workshop for parents and children from June 7 to 8. Twelve multicultural families and more than ten children attended the workshop, through which they were able to wipe away their hurt with tears and learn how to love again.

Yecheon Branch

The Yecheon Branch (Branch Leader: Tae Hee Kim) celebrated Buddha’s Birthday by handing out WFWP pamphlets and carrying out activities for the ‘1% Love Share Project’ at Yongmoon Temple, which is visited by many Buddhists. At the end of the day, the members also participated in the service work of washing dishes and cleaning up the environment around the Temple. Though they were unable to get together for long, owing to the busy schedule of the farming village, it was an opportunity for the members to work in solidarity with one another.
