2012년 4월 14일 4층 세미나실에서 120여명이 참석한 가운데 2012년 선학장학재단 정기총회 및 장학금 수여식이 개최 되었다.


이날 장학금 수여식은 최영선 이사의 사회를 시작으로 김미주 운영이사의 경과보고, 정대화 명예이사장의 인사말, 윤정로 회장(강한대한민국 범국민운동본부)의 격려사, 이현경 사무국장의 결산보고, 최영자 감사의 감사보고 후 장학증서 수여의 순서로 진행 되었다.             


세계평화여성연합 전국지부, 한국원리연구회, 다문화종합복지센타, 전국 시․군․구 기초수급자 및 서울시 교육청에서 추천받은 학생 82명(일반장학생:63명, 의대생:4명, 복지장학생:15명)에게 9천1백만원의 장학금을 전달되었으며, 장학금 수여자 중에는 만학도, 유학생 및 미래 인재 육성을 위한 특별장학생과 새터민 대학생(3명)도 포함되어 있었다.


올해로 19년째 장학사업을 펼치고 있는 (재)선학장학재단은 여성연합 회원들이 어머니의 마음으로 적극 협조하여 기금을 마련하여 출발하여, 1995년 5월 22일 (재)선학장학재단으로 승격되었으며 꾸준한 노력의 결실로 현재 24억원의 장학재단으로 성장하고 있다.


Sunhak Scholarship Foundation holds Awarding Ceremony


On April 14, 2012, the General Assembly of the Sunhak Scholarship Foundation and the Scholarship Awarding Ceremony for the year 2012 were held at the Seminar Room on the fourth floor, attended by more than 120 people.


The Awarding Ceremony was emceed by WFWP Secretary General Young Sun Choi, and was begun with a progress report from Managing Director Mi Joo Kim, followed by an address by Honorary Chairperson Dae Wha Chung, words of encouragement from Chairman Jeong Ro Yoon (Strong Korea National Movement Headquarters), the statement of accounts by Secretary General Hyun Gyung Lee, the audit report by Auditor Young Ja Choi, and the awarding of scholarships.


Eighty-two students (general scholarship students: 63, medical college students: 4, welfare scholarship students: 15), recommended by WFWP chapters in Korea, CARP Korea, the Multi-cultural Welfare Center, basic living subsidy recipients in cities, towns and counties across Korea, and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, were awarded with scholarships amounting to 91 million won in total. The awardees also included late learners, foreign students, special scholarship students for the nurturing of future talents, and New-Settler (3 refugee) students.


The Sunhak Scholarship Foundation, which has continued to award students with scholarships for nineteen years, was first begun with funds prepared by WFWP members, who gave willingly with motherly hearts. On May 22, 1995, it was officially elevated to the status of a Foundation, and as a result of unceasing efforts, it has now grown into a Foundation worth 2.4 billion won.
