통일단체 실무자 워크샵이 5월 19일 약60명이 참석한 가운데 통일부 정책협력과 주관으로 진행되었다.

워크샵은 철원 한탄강 고석정과 남북한의 과거를 볼 수 있는 통일전시실 견학과 박용주 서기관(통일부 정책협력과)의 통일정책 설명이 있었으며, 오후에는 현존 땅굴 중 최장 길이인 3.5km의 제2땅굴, 철원 평화전망대, 일반인이 갈 수 있는 북한 최근접 민통선 지역이자 달릴 수 없는 철마로 유명한 월정역과 노동 당사를 견학 일정으로 마감되었다.

1997년 통일부 사단법인으로 북한사랑1%운동과 통일교육, 새터민 돕기 등 다양한 활동을 하고 있는 본 연합에서는 최영선 사무총장과 문신자 총무운영팀 과장이 참석하였다.

Unification Group Working-level Workshop

About 60 people gathered at a Unification Group Working-level Workshop held by Policy Cooperation Department of ROK Ministry of Unification on May 19.

There was a visit to the Unification Exhibit Hall at the Cheolwon Hantan River Goseokjeong (gazebo) displaying past views of South and North Korea. Mr. Bak Yongju, Secretary of the Policy Cooperation Department of the ROK Ministry of Unification, gave an explanation of Unification. In the afternoon there was a field trip to the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel Course (3.5 km), the longest infiltration tunnel in Korea; the Cheolwon Peace Observatory; Woljeong Station which is not only the South’s nearest civilian-control railway to North Korea but is also known as “the train that cannot run”; and the Labor Party Building that had been an operations center for North Korea.

From the WFWP, SG Choi and Section Chief Moon attended. WFWP Korea as an organization since 1997 has been contributing with the 1% Love Share Project, Unification Education, and helping North Korean refugees.
