수원지부(지부장:정정순)는 지난 9월 15일, 수원지부 강당에서 동지부장 및 회원교육을 개최했다.

수원지부의 동지부장 및 회원 400명이 참석한 교육에는 본 연합의 활동보고와 여성연합의 활동 방향성에 대하여 고민해보고 이야기를 나눠보는 시간이 되었다.

김종출 교구장의 사회, 일본회원의 동경 전통춤, 최영선 사무총장(본부)의 활동보고, 문난영 회장의 ‘물동이를 내려놓고’라는 주제로 강연이 진행되었다.

문난영 회장은 전 세계 해외지부에서 진행되고 있는 국제 활동과 UN활동을 전달하면서 여성연합의 위상과 저력에 대하여 소개하였으며, “세계본부인 한국에서도 지역 활동에 적극 참여하여서 지역단체에서 그 저력을 발휘하는 여성연합을 기대하며, 2013년을 향해 발전하는 회원들의 모습을 보여주자”고 독려하였다.

The Dong Branch Leaders’ and Members’ Workshop in the Suwon Branch, South Gyeonggi Province

The Suwon Branch (Branch Leader: Jeong Soon Jeong) held the Dong Branch Leaders’ and Members’ Workshop on September 15 in the Suwon Branch lecture hall.

The workshop, attended by 400 dong branch leaders and members of the Suwon Branch, provided an opportunity for the participants to hear about the activities of the WFWP, ponder the direction for future activities of the WFWP, and exchange opinions with one another.

The workshop was emceed by Regional Church Leader Jong Chool Kim, and after a performance of Tokyo’s traditional dance given by the Japanese members, Secretary-General Young Sun Choi (Headquarters) gave a report on the activities of the WFWP, and President Lan Young Moon gave a speech entitled, ‘Putting Down the Water Jar’.

President Moon introduced the global status and the potential strength of the WFWP, speaking of the international activities and UN activities being carried out by all WFWP branches and chapters across the world. Giving words of encouragement, she said “I hope for WFWP Korea, which is the world headquarters, to also actively participate in local activities, thereby demonstrating their potential power to local organizations. In addition, let us show how we, the members, can grow and develop in 2013.”
