지난 6월 25일, 경북 성주지부(지부장:김순락)는 김항곤 군수(성주군), 정영길 의원 부부(경북도), 박기진 현 의원(경북도) 등 지역의 단체장과 지도자 및 주민 253명이 참석한 가운데 성주웨딩에서 ‘21C 여성지도자포럼’을 열었다.

이 날 포럼에 참석한 김항곤 군수(성주군)는 여성들의 희생과 봉사, 정성에 의해 좋은 성주군이 되고 있다며, 앞으로도 세계평화여성연합의 발전과 활동을 기대한다고 했다.

박기진 의원(경북도)은 여성연합의 활동상과 발전에 놀라움을 금치 못하겠고, 지금까지의 활동에 도움이 못되어 죄송하다며 앞으로 열심히 돕겠다는 소감을 밝혔다. 성주지부는 이번 포럼을 기반으로 여성연합 회원들이 앞장서서 지역 봉사활동에 최선을 다하겠다는 의지를 다졌다.

21C Women Leaders Forum hosted in Seongju Branch, North Gyeongsang Province

On June 25 last, Seongju Branch of North Gyeongsang Province (Branch Leader: Soon Rak Kim) hosted the 21C Women Leaders Forum at Seongju Wedding Hall, attended by 253 heads of local organizations, leaders and residents, including Magistrate Hang Gon Kim (Seongju-gun), Provincial Assemblyman Yeong Gil Jeong and wife (North Gyeongsang Province), and current Provincial Assemblyman Gi Jin Park (North Gyeongsang Province).

The forum held on this day was planned and carried out to promote the activities of WFWP and to secure the foundation for Vision 2020 in Seongju-gun, and it was a great success, well attended by the local residents.

Magistrate Hang Gon Kim (Seongju-gun) said that Seongju-gun was becoming an attractive place thanks to the sacrifice, service and devotion of women, and added that he hoped for the Women’s Federation for World Peace to continue to grow and carry out activities.

Provincial Assemblyman Gi Jin Park (North Gyeongsang Province) stated that he was impressed by the activities and development of WFWP and that he was sorry he had been unable to help their activities until now, and he promised to help them in any way he can from now on. Seongju Branch renewed their resolution for the members of WFWP to stand at the forefront and do their utmost best in carrying out local service activities, with this forum as their basis.
