지난 9월 28일 라는 주제로 전남 광주시 서구`남구지부가 주최하고 민족화해협력범국민협의회(이하 민화협)가 후원하는 이 광주 예술의 전당 호텔에서 개최하였다.

광주지역의 지도자들과 지역주민 172명이 참석한 포럼은 장경옥 회원의 사회를 시작으로 김회주 성악가의 축가, 후지타쓰이 지부장(광주 서구`남구)의 환영사, 박금자 센터장(광주 다문화가족지원센터)의 축사, 손숙희 도 지부장(전남)의 격려사, 문난영 세계회장(본 연합)의 특별강연 순으로 진행되었다.

이날 포럼에서 축사를 전한 박금자 센터장은 “세계적인 활동의 규모와 평화 운동을 뒷받침하는 활동에 감동을 받았으며, 더불어 여성들이 좀 더 적극적으로 통일에 많은 관심을 가져야겠다 생각을 다지는 기회가 되었다”는 참석 소감을 전했다.

포럼에 참석한 지역 지도자들과 참석자들의 적극적인 모습을 보면서 포럼을 준비했던 광주지역 회원들은 뿌듯함을 느끼고 힘을 얻게 되었다며 뜻 깊은 행사를 진행 할 수 있도록 협조한 관계자 분들에게 감사의 마음을 전했다.

Branches of the west and south districts in Gwangju, Cheollanam-do Province, for the 21C Women Leaders Forum

On 29 September, the 21C Women Leaders Forum was held in the Arts Hall Hotel in Gwangju on the subject “World Peace As a Global Family,” hosted by the Gwangju west and south district branches and sponsored by the Korea Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation.

The forum, attended by 172 people including leaders in the Gwangju region and local residents, was emceed by Chang Kyeong-ok. Welcoming remarks by Manager Tsui Fujita, a congratulatory message by Park Geum-ja, director of the Gwangju Multicultural Family Support Center, words of encouragement by Sohn Sukhee, Cheollanam-do branch manager, and a special lecture by Dr. Lan Young Moon were given.

Geumja Park, who gave the congratulatory message, expressed her impressions: “I participated in an opportunity to reconfirm the thought that women have to pay more active attention to unification, and I am touched as well by the scale of international activities and the activities supporting the peace movement.”

Seeing the active attitude of local leaders and participants, the members of Gwangju region who had prepared for the forum, expressed their gratitude to those who cooperated to host the meaningful event, and said that they were very much encouraged.
