세계평화여성연합 창립19주년 기념식이 4월 8일(금) 전국 회원 770명이 참석한 가운데 ‘님의 발자취를 찾아가는 여성들의 아름다운 동행’ 이라는 주제로 경북 문경새재 야외공연장에서 개최되었다.

식전행사로 대구지부의 민요 공연과 최영선 사무총장의 사회를 시작으로 문난영 회장의 기념사, 최연아 부회장의 환영인사, 박근령 고문의 축사, 축하공연으로 경북지부의 ‘6.25 피난길’ 퍼포먼스, 울산지부의 합창, 유병녀 지부장(충남)의 몸풀기 스트레칭, 왕계순 부회장의 만세삼창 순으로 진행 되었다.

문난영 회장은 기념사에서 “산수 좋은 문경새재에서 고난의 시절 총재님이 걸으셨던 이 길을 걸으면서 다시 한번 우리 여성들의 사명을 되새기고 뿌리를 내리자. 또한 지구사랑 1%운동을 통해 여성의 힘으로 평화세계를 이룩하자”고 강조했다.

최연아 부회장은 환영사를 통해 “여성연합은 탄생한지 어느 듯 19돌이 되었으며, 이제는 성숙한 어머니의 마음과 몸가짐으로 다 함께 여성 시대와 미래를 열어가자”고 말했다.

박근령 고문은 “어머니의 자리란 산고 없이는 불가능하듯 세계평화여성연합 또한 19년의 크고 작은 진통 끝에 세계 평화를 위해 활동하는 여성단체로 세상의 중심에 선 것을 진심으로 축하 한다“고 말했다.

기념식을 마친 참석자들은 문경새재 제1관문에서 기념촬영 후 제2관문까지 올라 삼삼오오 지부별로 모여 준비해온 점심식사를 함께 하면서 4월의 봄을 만끽하는 시간을 가졌다.

또한 3관문까지 완주한 회원들은 오늘의 이벤트인 에 참여하기 위한 사진을 찍으며 기념행사 일정에 동참하기도 했다.

19th Anniversary Event

Women's Federation for World Peace celebrated its 19th anniversary on April 8th at the Mungyeong Saejae with 770 members from around the nation, with the theme "Women Following the Footsteps of the Founders.”

Daegu Branch prepared a folk song performance before the celebration, and SG Choi was MC, Pres. Moon gave opening remarks, IVP Choi gave welcoming remarks, Advisor Park Geun-ryung gave congratulatory remarks, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Branch gave performances on 'The Korean War – Way of Refuge,' the Ulsan Branch offered choral music, Branch Manager Yoo Byeong-nyeo (Chungcheongnam-do) led the pre-hiking stretch session, and Vice Pres. Wang Gye-soon led in three cheers of mansei.

"Let us think again about our women's mission and put down roots by hiking through Mungyeong Saejae noted for its scenic beauty, but especially because our founder walked this way during his suffering days during the Korean War," said Pres. Moon during her opening remarks, "Let's building a peaceful world with women's strength through the 1% Love Share Project."

IVP Choi said, "It is the 19th birthday of WFWP, so let's open the women's era and the future with a mature mother's heart and actions."

"It is impossible to be a mother without birth pangs. I really congratulate the WFWP women now working at the center stage for a peaceful world after many hardships over 19 years," said Advisor Park Geun-ryung in her congratulatory remarks.

Following the ceremony, members took a commemorative group photo at the first of the three gates of the Mungyeong Saejae, and enjoyed the spring fragrance of April over lunch when they reached the second gate.

Those members who bravely proceeded all the way to the top took individual photos at the 3rd Gate and sent their photos received gift later.
