충북 괴산지부(지부장:시미즈 준꼬)는 여성단체에서 하고 있는 ‘독거노인에게 반찬 나누기’ 봉사에 함께 참여하여 활동하고 있다. 특히 4월은 괴산 여성연합이 당번 순서로 진행하게 되어 회원들과 정성을 다해 맛있게 반찬을 만들어서 지역의 독거노인들 가정에 배달을 했다.

충북 진천군지부(지부장:유재옥)는 4월 21일, 치매노인을 보호하는 노인시설로 복지센터인 진천 노인복지센터에서 손 마사지와 풍선을 이용한 게임을 진행하여 어르신들의 운동을 돕는 활동을 했다. 또한 아리랑 노래와 함께 손과 어깨체조, 기타와 하모니카 연주와 함께 노래를 부르기도 하였다. 진천지부의 이번 노인복지센터 처음방문이었으나 시설관계자와 이용자들의 반응은 좋았다. 2014년에는 월 1회 방문하여 봉사활동을 가질 예정이다.

The North Choongcheong Branch

The Gwesan Branch (Branch Leader: Junko Shimizu) is taking an active part in the ‘Providing Side dishes to Senior Citizens Living Alone Campaign’, which is carried out by a local women’s organization. It was the WFWP’s turn to lead the event in the month of April, and so the members made delicious side dishes with wholehearted devotion and delivered them to the homes of local senior citizens living alone.

On April 21, the Jincheon-gun Branch (Branch Leader: Jae Ok Yu) of North Choongcheong Province helped out with the physical exercise routine of the senior citizens residing in the Jincheon Senior Citizens Welfare Center, which is a home for the elderly and a welfare center where senile senior citizens are kept under care, through hand massages and balloon games. They also did hand and shoulder exercises while singing Arirang and sang other songs to the accompaniment of a guitar and harmonica. This was the first time the members of the Jincheon Branch had visited the Senior Citizens Welfare Center, and the staff and residents received them warmly. The members plan to visit the center once a month to carry out volunteer work in 2014.
