인천광역시지부(지부장:김보경)는 특성화사업으로 시작된 인천시지부 다문화풍물단 ‘아주’는 매월 자선공연으로 재능기부 봉사활동을 펼치고 있다. 특히 일본에서 한국을 찾아 온 일본 회원들에게 4월에 1회, 5월에는 12일과 13일, 3회에 걸쳐 공연을 했다.

또한 인천교통공사에서 모집한 문화공연단에 선정되어 매월 1회씩 인천지하철역에서 공연을 하게 되었다. 공연은 6월부터 시작되며 장소는 인천 지하철 부평시장역에서 6월 27일 금요일 첫 공연을 시작으로, 매월 둘째 주 금요일에 공연하게 된다. 공연을 통한 후원을 얻는 계기가 되었으며 더불어 세계평화여성연합의 취지와 활동내용을 전할 수 있게 되었다.

부천시지부(지부장:추영이)는 석가탄신일을 맞이하여 지역에서 가장 큰 사찰인 ‘석왕사’에서 개최된 다문화행사에 참가하여 일본음식 체험으로 ‘사누끼 우동’과 ‘우유 부팅’을 판매했다. 이날의 판매 수익금의 일부는 연말 ‘지구가족사랑1%운동’에 기부할 예정이다.

인천 부평지부(지부장:정혁순)는 5월 17일 부평구청에서 지원하는 자원봉사단 굴포천 환경지킴이에서 주최한 ‘굴포천 단오제’에 초청을 받아 ‘지구가족사랑1%운동’과 함께  아이스커피와 아이스티, 파인애플, 닭 강정을 판매하며 여성연합을 알리는 바자회를 했다. 굴포천 단오제가 작년에 비하여 올해는 지역의 많은 단체와 부평시민들이 많이 참석한 가운데 성황리에 마쳤다.

The Incheon Branch

‘Aju’, the Korean musical instruments team of the Incheon Branch(Branch Leader: Bo Gyeong Kim), first begun as their branch-specialized project, is taking part in local volunteer work by donating their talent in the form of monthly charity performances.

In particular, they gave three performances for Japanese members who came from Japan to visit Korea, once in April and twice in May, on the 12 and 13.

Moreover, they were recruited by the Incheon Transit Corporation as the company’s official cultural performance team to give performances once a month at Incheon subway stations. They have been asked to give performances from June, and beginning with the first performance on Friday, June 27, at the Bupyeong Market Station of the Incheon subway, they will be performing on the second Friday of every month. This recruitment has not only afforded them an opportunity to receive financial support through their performances, but will also allow them to do PR for the goals and activities of the Women’s Federation for World Peace.

The Bucheon Branch (Branch Leader: Yeong Yi Choo) participated in the multicultural event hosted bythe ‘Seokwang Temple’, the biggest Buddhist temple in the local district, to commemorate Buddha’s birthday. They sold ‘Sanuki Udon’ and ‘milk pudding’ as a part of their Japanese food experience event. A part of the proceeds raised on this day will be donated to the ‘1% Love Share Project’ at the end of the year.

The Bupyeong Branch of Incheon (Branch Leader: Hyeok Soon Jeong) was invited to take part in the ‘Gulpocheon Dano Festival’ held on May 17, hosted by a volunteer service group, the Gulpocheon Environment Protectors, and sponsored by the Bupyeong District Office. At the festival, they held a bazaar for the ‘1% Love Share Project’ and for the promotion of the WFWP, where they sold iced coffee, iced tea, pineapples, and spicy fried chicken. The Gulpocheon Dano Festival was a great success in comparison to last year’s festival, for many more local organizations and Bupyeong residents took part in it.
