창원시지부(지부장:구보 나미에)는 2월 9일 창원시 부지부장 외 10명의 회원들은 창원시지부 1층 커피숍과 로비에서 ‘불우이웃 돕기 일일찻집’을 개최하였다. 이날 행사는 12시 30분부터 3시까지 커피와 다양한 차를 판매하였으며 이날의 수익금을 가정환경이 어려운 회원 2가정에게 전달하였다. 또한 2월 27일에는 반지복지회관에서 9명의 회원들이 무료급식 봉사활동을 진행하였다.

합천군지부(지부장:이정학)는 2월 20일 합천 원폭피해자 복지회관 위문공연을 하였다. 참가정자원봉사단(세계평화여성연합 합천군지부소속) 이름으로 매주 화요일 5~6명의 회원들이 원폭피해자 복지회관에서 청소 및 목욕 봉사를 하고 있다. 회원자녀들의 봄방학을 맞이하여 어린이와 중, 고등학생 및 회원가족이 모여서 노래와 율동연습을 하여 지난여름에 이어 두 번째 공연을 하게 되었다. 70여명의 원폭피해자 할아버지 할머니께서 손자 손녀 같은 아이들의 재롱을 보시고 무척 즐거워하시며 기뻐하셨다. 공연이후에 간단한 다과도 준비하여 함께 나누는 시간도 가졌다. 참가정봉사단은 대한 적십자사 특수복지사업소 최인식 소장으로 부터 감사패를 수여 받았다. 2월 28일 30명의 회원들이 합천노인전문 요양원을 방문하여 세계평화여성연합 합천군지부 이름으로 위문공연과 다과를 나누며 여성연합 활동소개도 하였다.

통영지부(지부장:조미원)는 ‘엄마가 한턱 낼껭, 아빠 힘 내이소’ 란 주제로 학교에서 공부하느라 애쓰는 자녀들을 격려하고 위로하며 또한 직장에서 수고하는 우리의 가장인 아빠들의 수고에 감사의 마음을 전하고자 정성스런 만찬과 사랑의 노래를 준비하여 가족들 간의 즐거운 시간을 가졌다. 이날 준비한 모임으로 가족들은 아빠의 소중함, 자녀의 소중함을 다시 한 번  느끼게 되었고 사랑이 있는 따뜻한 가정이야말로 얼마나 우리에게 있어 귀한 것인가를 돌아보게 했다.

The South Gyeongsang Branch

The deputy branch leader and ten members of the Changwon Branch (Branch Leader: Namie Kubo) hosted a ‘One-day Café to Aid our Neighbors in Need’ at the ground floor coffee shop and lobby of the Changwon Branch building on February 9. At the event, coffee and various kinds of tea were sold from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, and the proceeds of the day were presented to the families of two members who are in difficult circumstances. In addition, nine members provided a soup kitchen service on February 27 at the Banji Welfare Center.

The Hapcheon Branch (Branch Leader: Jeong Hak Lee) gave a consolatory performance at the Hapcheon Welfare Center for the victims of the atomic bomb explosion on February 20. Five to six members carry out a cleaning and bathing service at the Welfare Center for victims of the atomic bomb explosion every Tuesday in the name of the True Family Volunteer Service Team (under the Women’s Federation for World Peace-Hapcheon Branch). It was spring break, and so members, their children, middle and high school students, and other family members gathered together to practice singing and rhythmic dancing to prepare for their second performance, the first being the performance they gave last summer. The grandfathers and grandmothers who were the atomic bomb victims were much delighted and pleased by the performance given by children, who were like their own grandsons and granddaughters. The members had also prepared simple snacks, and after the performance they had a chance to share the snacks and make merry. The True Family Volunteer Service Team has also been awarded with a Plaque of Appreciation by Chief In Shik Choi of the Red Cross Special Welfare Center. On February 28, thirty members visited the Hapcheon Nursing Home for the Elderly to give a consolatory performance and to serve snacks in the name of the Women’s Federation for World Peace-Hapcheon Branch, where they also introduced the activities of the WFWP.

The Tongyeong Branch (Branch Leader: Mi Won Cho) prepared a luncheon and songs of love with devotion under the theme, ‘Mom’s Buying, so Dads Cheer Up!’,to encourage and console the children who are studying hard at school and to express their heartfelt gratitude to the fathers who are working hard at their work places as the family breadwinners, and the families had an enjoyable time together. The meeting prepared and held on this day reminded the families once again of the significance of fathers and children, and made them reflect on how precious their warm families filled with love are to us.
