강원지부(지부장:박선희) 는 지역별 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있다.

춘천지부(지부장:시노하라 치호)는 매주 수요일과 목요일에는 춘천지부 회원 3명이 춘천시 장애인 복지센터와 월드비전에서 노인분들을 위한 종이접기봉사와 지역 아파트 단지내 노인회관을 청소봉사를 하고 있다.

평창지부(지부장:양영숙)는 9월 8일, 평창초등학교 주변에서 쓰레기 줍기 봉사활동을 가졌다. 회원 10명과 자녀들 4명이 함께 하면서 봉사활동의 기쁨을 느끼는 좋은 시간이었다. 9월 15일에는 평창지부 강당에서 다문화가정 회원 13명이 함께 요리교실을 개최했다. 추석이 다가와 송편과 함께 먹을 수 있는 시원한 물김치를 메뉴로 정하고, 직접 재배한 싱싱한 채소로 다 함께 만들어 보는 시간을 가졌다.

철원지부(지부장:이희숙)는 매주 5일간 하루 회원 4명은 기업체의 기부식품, 음료, 생활용품 등을 인수하여 필요로 하는 곳에 전달하는 푸드뱅크 활동을 하고 있다.

태백지부(지부장:사사끼 기미꼬)는 매주 토요일 회원들은 빵과 도넛을 만들어서 예쁘게 포장하여 시내 중심지인 ‘황지연못 공원’에서 어르신을 위해 빵을 나누어 드리는 봉사를 하였다. 

삼척지부(지부장:히가시 히로꼬)는 8월 7일 삼척시 노인복지회관에서 어르신들께 점심 배식과 설거지 봉사를 했다.                              

홍천지부(지부장:장상란)는 9월 11일, 홍천 종합체육관에서 열린 홍천군 여성들의 화합과 새로운 도약을 다짐하는 '제11회 홍천군 여성한마음 체육대회'에 참석하였다. 이 날 행사에서는 홍천군 지부 회원인 아키야마 메구미 회원이 효부상을, 각 단체 공로상에는 시마다 유키미 회원이 수상을 했다.

원주지부(지부장:서동효)는 8월 30일 봉산동 노인정에서 얼굴마사지, 해피헬스, 어깨 마사지 봉사를 전개했다.

동해지부(지부장:핫도리 미즈에)는 8월 27일, 동해시 주최로 문화예술회관에서 열린 ‘동북아 지중해 선포식’에 여성단체협의회 소속 기관으로 지부장 외 2명이 참석했다.

9월 2일, 강릉시지부(지부장:이정일)는 봉사활동과 더불어 지역 사회활동을 전개하자고 의견을 모아서 세계평화여성연합 문화강좌 개강식을 가졌다. 문화강좌개설은 지역사회에 꾸준히 봉사하면서 시민들과 만날 수 있는 좋은 계기를 마련하기 위해 열게 되었다. 개강식은 수강생들과 담당교수, 평화대사, 스텝 등 25명이 모인 가운데 이정일 지부장(강릉)의 환영사, 평화대사회장의 축사, 김종수 도상임고문의 격려사, 수강생들의 자기소개 시간을 가졌다. 강릉지부는 우리의 가진 재능을 통해 사회에 봉사하며 선도적 교육기관으로 부상하기 위해 노력할 것이다. 이번 개강과목은 생활영어, 생활일본어, 서예, 민요 등 4과목이며, 앞으로 더 많은 과목을 개설할 예정이다.

Gangwon Branch

The Gangwon Branch (Branch Leader: Seon Hee Park) is carrying out various local activities.

Three members of the Chooncheon Branch (Branch Leader: Chiho Shinohara) visit the Chooncheon Welfare Center for the Disabled and World Vision every Wednesday and Thursday to carry out an origami service for the aged. They also visit meeting rooms for the elderly in apartment complexes to carry out a cleaning service.

The Pyeongchang Branch (Branch Leader: Yeong Sook Yang) participated in the trash pick-up volunteer activity in the vicinity of the Pyeongchang Elementary School on September 8. Ten members and four of their children took part in the activity, and it was a wonderful occasion for them to learn about the joy of doing volunteer work.

The Cheolwon Branch (Branch Leader: Hee Sook Lee) is taking part in the Food Bank Campaign, in which four members a day collect and convey foodstuffs, beverages and daily necessities donated by companies, five days a week.

Members of the Taebaek Branch (Branch Leader: Kimiko Sasaki) gather every Saturday to make bread and donuts and wrap them in pretty packages to carry out their volunteer work of handing them out to the elderly in the ‘Hwangji Pond Park’, located in the center of the downtown area.

The Samcheok Branch (Branch Leader: Hiroko Higashi) distributed lunch and performed a dishwashing service at the Elders’ Welfare Center of Samcheok City on August 7.

The Hongcheon Branch (Branch Leader: Sang Ran Jang) attended the ‘11th Hongcheon-gun Women’s One Heart Sports Competition’, which was held on September 11 at the  Hongcheon Stadium for the harmonization of women in Hongcheon-gun and their resolution to take a new leap forward. At the day’s event, member Megumi Akiyama of the Hongcheon-gun Branch won the Dutiful Daughter-in-law Award, and member Yukimi Shimada won the Meritorious Service Award given to each of the organizations.

The Wonju Branch (Branch Leader: Dong Ho Seoh) gave facial massages, Happy Health service, and also shoulder rubs at the Senior Citizens’ Home in Bongsan-dong on August 30.

The branch leader and two members of the Donghae Branch (Branch Leader: Mizue Hattori) attended the ‘Declaration Ceremony for the Lands and Seas of Northeast Asia’ held at the Culture and Arts Hall of Donghae City on August 27.

The Gangreung Branch holds the ‘Opening Ceremony of the Cultural Classes Given by the Women’s Federation for World Peace’

On September 2, the Gangreung Branch (Branch Leader: Gyeong Il Lee) held the opening ceremony of the cultural classes given by the Women’s Federation for World Peace, after pooling the opinions of members about doing local social activities together as well as doing their volunteer work. They decided to hold cultural classes to create a good opportunity for them to meet with the local residents while assiduously carrying out their volunteer work in local communities. The opening ceremony was held with 25 people in attendance, including the students, the class teachers, ambassadors for peace and staff members, and was begun with a welcoming address delivered by Branch Leader Gyeong Il Lee (Gangreung), followed by a congratulatory address given by the Chairperson of the Ambassadors for Peace, words of encouragement from Advisor Sang Im Doh, and the self-introduction of the students. The Gangreung Branch will make every effort to contribute to society through the skills they possess and to emerge as a leading educational center in the nation. The four classes that have begun include Real Life English, Real Life Japanese, Calligraphy and Folk Songs, and they have plans to have many more classes.

The Pyeongchang Branch (Branch Leader: Yeong Sook Yang) held a cooking class for thirteen members from multicultural families at the Pyeongchang Branch Lecture Hall on September 15.

Since Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) was approaching, they decided to make Songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cakes) and refreshing water kimchi to go with it. It provided a chance for them to make the dishes together with the fresh vegetables they had grown with their own hands.
