2014년 1월 14일, 강원도 고성 통일전망대를 찾아 새해맞이 첫 행사로 중앙위원 40명이 참석한 가운데 제22회 남북통일 기원제를 드렸다.

남북통일 기원제는 왕계순 부회장(본부)의 사회로 통일의 노래를 부르며 개회 되었으며 차가운 바람에도 정성스레 제단을 준비한 참석자들은 평화와 통일을 위한 묵념, 향을 올리기, 최영선 사무총장(본부)의 인사말, 박미화 회장(여성연합 중앙위원회)의 통일기원사, 이종옥 회원의 통일의 시 낭송, 김미옥 회원의 만세삼창 순으로 진행되었다.

이날 참석자들은 지척의 북녘 땅을 철조망 넘어 바라보며 다가올 통일을 준비하여 평화통일운동에 앞장서는 2014년 한해가 되기를 다짐하고 결의하는 시간이 되었다. 

The 22nd North-South Korea Unification Prayer Ceremony

On January 14, 2014, the 21st- North-South Korea Unification Prayer Ceremony was held at the Unification Observatory in Goseong, Gangwon Province, as the first event to usher in the New Year, and was attended by forty central committee members.

The North-South Korea Unification Prayer Ceremony was emceed by Vice-President Gye Soon Wang (Headquarters), and opened with the singing of the Song of Unification. The participants had prepared a table with devotion, in spite of the cold weather, and they offered a silent prayer for peace and unification and lit incense, which was followed by an address by Secretary-General Yeong Seon Choi (Headquarters), a prayer for unification given by President Mi Hwa Park (WFWP Central Committee), a recitation of the poem of unification by Member Jong Ok Lee, and three cheers of Mansei led by Member Mi Ok Kim.

On this day, the participants looked at the land of the North only a short distance away, across the barbed-wire fence, and made a resolution and determination to make 2014 a year in which they can prepare for the coming unification and take the lead in the peace and unification movement.
