세계평화여성연합이 주최하고 통일교육협의회에서 후원하는 '2013 도란도란 통일기행- 다가오는 통일을 준비하며' 통일현장교육이 9월 6일 대전지부(지부장: 홍성순)에서 34명이 참석한 가운데 개최되었다.

이번 통일교육은 2002년 탈북하여 현재 한국정책금융공사 북한경제팀장을 맡고 있는 김영희 박사의 강의와 분단현장 견학으로 진행되었다. 먼저 김영희 박사는 강의를 통해 “북한사람과 남한사람의 차이점을 설명하며 문화차이로 인해 일어나는 오해를 피하기 위해서는 서로에 대해 잘 알아야 하는데, 북한 사람들은 남한 사람을 접할 기회가 없기 때문에 남한사람들이 먼저 북한사람을 이해 할 수 여유를 가져준다면 통일 후의 문제점들이 많이 줄어들 것다.” 고 말했다.

이후 진행된 판문점과 도라산 전망대 견학은 북한과 가장 가깝게 맞닿아 있는 분단현장을 직접 보고, 군인들로부터 설명을 들으며 통일의 필요성에 대해 생각할 수 있는 시간이 되었다.

2013 Doran Doran Unification Trip: Field Trip to Panmunjeom

The ‘2013 Doran Doran Unification Trip: Preparing for the Approaching Unification!’, which is an on-site unification workshop hosted by the WFWP and sponsored by the Unification Education Council, was held on September 6, attended by 34 participants from the Daejeon Branch (Branch Leader: Seong Soon Hong).

The Unification workshop held at this time included a talk given by Dr. Yeong Hee Kim, who defected from North Korea in 2002 and who is now the North Korea Economics Team Leader under the Korea Finance Corporation, and a field trip to the site of division. First, Dr. Yeong Hee Kim explained the differences between North Koreans and South Koreans in her lecture, and went on to say, “In order to avoid any misunderstandings arising from cultural differences, people need to know well about one another, but the North Koreans do not get a chance to come in contact with South Koreans. Therefore, if the South Koreans can find it in their hearts to understand North Koreans first, many problems could be eliminated after Korea is reunited.”

Afterwards, the field trip to Panmunjeom and the Dora Observatory was an opportunity for the participants to personally visit the site of division, the place that lies closest to North Korea, and to listen to explanations given by several soldiers and to think about the necessity of unification.
