경기북부 의정부지부(지부장:임현순)는 지난 8월9일 예다움 웨딩홀에서 지역지도자 120명을 모시고 21세기의 세계평화를 위해 여성의 역할에 대해 비전을 제시하고자 을 개최하였다.

와타나베 이스즈 총무(의정부지부)의 사회로 개회 되어 국민의례, 귀빈소개, 선학 오케스트라의 축하연주, 임현순 지부장(의정부지부)의 환영사, 노영일 전 시의장, 빈민선 의원, 안금례 회장(여성단체)의 축사에 이어 문난영 회장의 주제로 강연이 진행되었다.

참석자들은 이날 강연을 통해 “여성연합의 세계적인 활동에 감동을 받았다”는 소감과 함께 “여성이 세계를 움직일 수 있다는 희망을 느꼈다”고 말했다.

성대히 포럼을 마친 의정부지부는 동지부장과 다문화가정 회원들이 함께 하반기 활동을 준비하고 있다며 적극적인 지역 활동에 대한 계획을 전했다.

21st C Women Leaders Forum hosted at the Uijeongbu Branch, Northern Gyeonggi

On August 9 last, the Uijeongbu Branch of Northern Gyeonggi (Branch Leader: Hyeon Soon Yim) hosted the 21st C Women Leaders Forum at the Yedaum Wedding Hall, attended by 120 regional leaders, to present the vision of the role of women in bringing about world peace in the 21st century.

The Forum was emceed by Manager Isuzu Watanabe (Uijeongbu Branch), and commenced with the Korean Pledge of Alliance, followed by the introduction of VIPs, a congratulatory performance given by the Seonhak Orchestra, a welcoming address given by Branch Leader Hyeon Soon Yim (Uijeongbu Branch), congratulatory addresses given by former City Councilman Yeong Il Roh, National Assemblyperson Min Seon Bin and Chairperson Geum Rye Ahn (Women’s Organization), and a keynote speech by President Lan Young Moon titled “A World of Peace with Humanity as One Family”.

After the keynote speech, the participants said, “We are impressed by the global activities of the WFWP. We feel hopeful that women can indeed move the world”.

At the successful end of the Forum, the Uijeongbu Branch disclosed its plans to take an active part in local events, in particular the it is preparing for the second half of the year together with the Dong Branch Leaders and members from multicultural families.
