지난 8월부터 9월, 본 연합 사무실에서 세 차례에 걸친 언론사와의 인터뷰가 있었다.

8월 23일 에서는 ‘2011 한국을 이끄는 핵심 리더 세계평화여성연합’ 이라는 제목으로 여성연합의 활동을 전달했고, 9월21일 은 ‘진정한 평화의 파수꾼 , UN 승인 NGO최고 단체’로 본 연합의 활동을 소개 했다. 또한 9월25일 는 ‘여성 NGO 한국세계본부 - 세계평화여성연합’으로 배려와 감성으로 지키는 평화에서 누리는 평화를 위해 활동하는 여성연합을 소개했다.

문난영 회장은 인터뷰를 통해 여성연합의 창설이념과 UN NGO 제1영역 단체로서 UN이 지향하는 ‘새천년발달목표’에 따른 전 세계 지부의 활동을 소개했으며, 지금의 21C는 고유의 감성과 슬기가 필요한 여성의 시대임을 강조하면서, 여성의 힘이 국가 경쟁력이 되는 시대이고 양성과 교육에 따른 여성지도자 배출에 대한 의지를 전했다.

WFWP activity introduced through the Korean media

In August and September, three interviews on WFWP were held in the HQ office.

On 23 August, Sisa Magazine reported WFWP’s activity with the title "Women’s Federation for World Peace, a core leader leading Korea 2011." Sports Chosun dated 21 September introduced our activities as the "True guardian of peace, first-class NGO approved by the UN," and the News Maker magazine in the issue dated 25 September introduced WFWP as an active organization under the title, "Women NGO Headquartered in Korea – Women’s Federation for World Peace."

Through the interviews, President Lan Young Moon introduced the founding spirit of WFWP and activities of the worldwide branches supporting the UN Millennium Development Goals, as an NGO in general consultative status. She emphasized that the 21st century is the women’s era in which the sensibility and wisdom of women are in demand more than ever before. She expressed her determination to nurture women leaders and encourage further education and training as we are in an era in which women power translates directly to national competitiveness.
