주한외국인지부(지부장: 엘리자베스 콜포드)는 지난 2월 22일 정기모임인 커피모닝 2월 행사를 가졌다. 이탈리아의 마리아 아도르노 교수가 함께 하여 작곡가 베르디를 예시로 ‘이탈리아인의 삶에 있어서 음악의 중요성’에 대해 강연하였다. 주한 이탈리아 대사관 직원들을 포함 총 26명이 참석하였다. 참석자들은 이탈리아의 아름다운 아리아의 선율을 감상하였으며, 마리아 교수의 지도로 지노 파올리의 "La Gatta" 노래를 배우며 다함께 불러보는 시간도 가졌다.

IWK February Coffee Morning

IWK, the International Women in Korea, (Branch Leader: Dr. Elizabeth Colford) held their monthly Coffee Morning for English-speaking women in Korea on February 22. Italian Prof. Maria Adorno explained the importance of music in the life of Italians, focusing on the life and operas of Giuseppi Verdi. Several members of the Italian Embassy accompanied Prof. Adorno to the event. The twenty-six members and guests enjoyed listening to various arias from several operas and all joined in to sing "La Gatta", a modern song in Italian by Gino Paoli, illustrating a well-known children’s tale, expertly led by Prof. Adorno.
