- 제3회 피스비전21 충주시 청소년장학금 전달식

충주시지부(지부장:우순화)에서는 10월23일(토) 충주시 용산동주민센터에서 6.25전쟁 60주년 '은혜를 잊지 않는 대한민국'이라는 주제로 을 개최하였다.

진일화 국회의원 비서관과 김복기 충주시장 사모, 정경선 충주부시장 사모, 최용수 의원(충주시), 권순성 동장(용산동), 이선복 회장(노인복지회관) 등 지역 귀빈들을 모신 가운데 지역 단체와 학교장 추천을 받은 10명의 학생들에게 장학금을 전달하였다.

또한 장학금 전달식에 이어 총재님의 노정, 원리교육 그리고 전쟁을 겪지 못한 학생들에게 다시는 전쟁이 없는 대한민국이 되기를 당부하는 어르신들의 체험담을 듣는 특강 순으로 이날의 행사는 마무리되었다.

- 충주세계무술 축제 안내봉사

지난 9월, 충주세계무술축제가 평화공원에서 열린 가운데 충주시지부(지부장:우순화) 여성연합회원들은 9월29일부터 10월1일까지 축제기간 동안 종합안내 봉사를 하였다. 갑자기 추워진 날씨에도 불구하고 밤 9시까지 통역봉사와 더불어 안내 팜플렛을 방문객들에게 나누워 주었다.

축제를 찾아온 일본 고전무술인 세키구치 회장(일본거합도연맹)은 한국에 시집와서 현장 봉사활동에 참여하고 있는 본 연합의 일본회원들을 만나 반가워하며 격려의 말을 해주었으며, 이에 충주시 회원들은 감사한 마음을 담아 총재님의 자서전을 선물로 전했다.

- The 3rd Peace Vision 21 Chungju-si Youth Scholarship

The Chungju-si Branch held The 3rd Scholarship Ceremony for Peace Vision 21 Chungju-si Youth, on Oct 23, 2010, at the Chungju-si Youngsan-dong Community Center. National Assembly member Yun Jin-sik's secretary, the wife of mayor Kim Bok-ggi, the wife of Deputy Mayor Jung Gyeong-sun, city council member Choi Yong-su, the Youngsan-dong office chief, and elderly care center President Lee Sun-bok were all invited, and the theme was “The 60th Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Korean War: Korea Doesn't Forget Favors." During the event they heard a lecture about the WFWP founder's life and thought, and had time to hear the elders' experiences of the Korean War, praying that war will never again occur in Korea. The event was concluded with attending students and parents writing their impressions.

- Chungju World Martial Arts Festival Guide Service

Last September, the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival was held at the Chungju Peace Park, and WFWP Chungju Branch members served as guides during the festival from Sep. 29 to Oct. 1. Even in sudden cold weather, members distributed brochures to visitors and offered translation services until 9 at night. Japan Geohapdo Federation President Sekiguchi, a classical martial arts expert, was happy to meet and encourage Japanese WFWP members who came to Korea to be married and who are now offering volunteer work. WFWP Chungju-si members gave Mr. Sekiguchi a copy of the founder's autobiography.
