8월 19일 민족화해협력범국민협의회(아하 민화협)에서 회원단체 탐방을 위한 인터뷰가 있었다.

문난영 회장은 인터뷰를 통해 여성연합은 전 세계 141개 단체가 UN NGO 제1영역포괄적협의자문지위에 있는 단체 중 하나로 UN이 지향하는 ‘새천년발달목표’에 따른 활동과 더불어 분쟁지역의 평화와 북한의 어린이와 여성 지원사업 등 취약계층을 위한 활동내용을 전했다.

또한 전 세계 헐벗은 어린이와 여성들의 안타까운 사연과 더불어 본 연합의 총재님의 가르침인 ‘인류 한 가족’ 시대를 민화협 회원단체 모두가 함께 준비하자고 덧붙였다.

문난영 회장은 현재 민화협 공동대표로서 활동하고 있으며, 본 연합은 그 동안 회원단체로서 꾸준한 남북통일운동을 해 온 공로로 2006년 3월 9일 민화협의 추천을 받아 통일부장관상을 수상하기도 했다.

Visit to Membership Organizations from the Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation

An interview on visits to membership organizations was held on August 19 at the Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation.

Through the interview, President Lan Young Moon introduced WFWP as a first-ranking UN NGO with general consultative status. Of the 141 such NGOs worldwide, there are just two in Korea with this status. She described its diverse activities such as the Middle East Women’s Conferences, aid for children in North Korea, and various educational projects to empower women in support of the Millennium Development Goals.

She drew attention to the situation of needy women and children all over the world, and encouraged all to prepare for the era of ‘One Global Family' which is the founders’ teaching, together with members of the KCRC.
