강원 횡성군 지부는 지난 4월 3일, 향교웨딩홀에서 지역주민과 단체장등 150명이 참석한 가운데 ‘여성의 힘으로 이루는 평화세계’라는 주제로 포럼을 개최하였다.

카와바타 후미꼬 사회로 시작된 포럼은 국민의례, 무지개합창단의 축가, 한미숙 지부장의 환영사, 안신영 군의원(횡성군)의 축사, 박선희 지부장(강원도)의 격려사, 문난영 회장의 주제강연으로 진행으로 되었다.

한규호 전 군수는 “세계평화여성연합의 세계적인 활동에 놀랐다. 문총재님의 영향력이 대단하다는 것을 다시 한 번 느꼈다.”라고 참석 소감을 전했다. 또한 송순영 현 군의원 부인은 “내용이 너무 좋아 다 필기했다. 여성이 힘이 강하다는 것을 느꼈다.”고 소감을 말했다.

횡성군지부에서는 앞으로 봉사활동을 통해 지역주민과 유대를 쌓는 여성연합이 되겠다고 향후 계획과 포부를 전했다.

21st C Women Leaders Forum hosted in Hwengseong-gun, Gangwon Province

The Hwengseong-gun Branch of Gangwon Province hosted a Forum titled ‘A World of Peace Realized through the Power of Women’ on April 3 at the Hyang-gyo Wedding Hall, which was attended by 150 heads of organizations and local residents.

The Forum was opened by the MC, Mrs. Fumiko Kawabata, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to Korea, a congratulatory song sung by the Rainbow Choir, a welcoming address given by Branch Leader Mi Sook Han, a congratulatory address delivered by a Member of the Local Assembly, Shin Young Ahn (of Hwengseong-gun), words of encouragement given by Branch Leader Seon Hee Park (Gangwon Province), and the keynote speech by President Lan Young Moon.

Former County Magistrate Gyu Ho Han expressed his impressions after his participation in the Forum by saying, “I was amazed by the global activities of the Women’s Federation for World Peace. I realized once again that the influence of Rev. Moon is truly great”. In addition, the wife of a current Member of the Local Assembly, Soon Yeong Song, expressed her views, “The content was so wonderful that I wrote everything down. I felt that the power of women is truly strong.”

The Hwengseong-gun Branch announced their future plans and aspirations to become members of the WFWP who can form a close connection with the local residents through their volunteer work.
