성북지부(지부장:임태옥)는 2013년 1월25일 빅토리아호텔에서 성북구 여성단체장들과 지역지도자들 140명이 참석한 가운데 ‘21C 여성지도자포럼’을 개최하였다.

이날 포럼은 고바야시 미즈호 부지부장의 사회로 개회되었으며 임태옥 지부장의 환영사, 지역 참가정운동 실천 가정 시상식, 글로벌 시스터즈(다문화가정으로 구성)의 축가, 문난영 회장의 강연 순으로 진행되었다.

문난영 회장은 ‘평화세계와 남북통일은 참가정운동으로’라는 주제강연을 통해 ‘여성연합의 UN활동을 소개하면서 시대의 변화와 여성들의 역할의 중요성, 평화세계와 남북통일을 위한 실천운동’을 강조했다.

포럼을 마친 성북지부 회원들은 봄맞이 일일찻집을 계획과 함께 회원간의 화합과 발전에 노력하겠다는 의지를 전했다. 

‘21C 여성지도자포럼’은 여성지도자 의식 함양 및 남북통일 대비 및 평화운동 확대를 위한 목적으로 전국에서 개최되고 있다.

21stC Women Leaders Forum hosted at the Seongbuk Branch, Seoul

The Seongbuk Branch in Seoul (Branch Leader: Tae Ok Im) hosted the ‘21stC Women Leaders Forum’ on January 25, 2013 at the Victoria Hotel, attended by 140 heads of women’s organizations and the regional leaders of Seongbuk-gu.

The Forum was emceed by Deputy Branch Leader Mizuho Kobayashi, and Branch Leader Tae Ok Im gave the welcoming address, which was followed by the Regional True Family Movement Practice Family Awards Ceremony, congratulatory songs sung by the Global Sisters (made up of multicultural families), and a speech by WFWPI President Lan Young Moon.

President Lan Young Moon’s keynote speech was entitled ‘Achieving the Unification of North and South Korea and World Peace through the True Family Movement’, in which she introduced the UN activities of the WFWP and emphasized the importance of the role of women in these changing times, as well as the need to practice living for others to achieve a world of peace and the unification of North and South Korea.

At the end of the Forum, the members of the Seongbuk Branch announced their plans to open a one-day café to celebrate the coming of spring, and they resolved to make great efforts to promote harmony and development with their members.

The ‘21stC Women Leaders Forum’ is hosted regularly in all parts of Korea with the purpose of raising the awareness of women leaders, making preparations for the unification of North and South Korea, and expanding the peace movement.
