지난 12월 9일 유니버설 아트센터 블루룸에서 전국 여성지도자 220명이 함께 한 가운데 세미나가 개최되었다.

이날의 행사는 최영선 사무총장의 사회로 개회되었으며 문난영 회장의 대회사 박근령 총재의 축사로 시작되었다.

홍성순 부회장이 좌장을 맡은 Session 1, 2에서는 ‘여성과 영성 그리고 참가정’이란 주제로 조육현 소장(한국 사회교육연구소)이, ‘여성과 MDGs’ 주제로 김은경 팀장(한국여성정책연구원)이 주제발표를 했다. 이후 Session 3, 4에서는 왕계순 부회장이 좌장을 맡고 백학순 수석연구위원(세종연구소)이 ‘여성과 통일’에 대하여 이연숙 의원(16대)이 ‘여성과 정치’에 대한 발표를 가졌다.

참석자들은 21C는 여성의 힘이 국가경쟁력으로 평가되며 여성의 적극적인 사회참여가 요구되고 있는 이때에 여성과 영성 그리고 여성과 UN MDGs 여성정치와 통일을 짚어보면서 2011년 한해의 발자취를 정리하는 시간을 가졌다.

2011 Held the Korea Women's Peace Network

With 220 women leaders, the 2011 Korea Women's Peace Network seminar was hosted in the Blue room of Universal Arts Center on December 9th.

The seminar was presided by Secretary General Choi Young-sun and WFWPI President Mrs. Moon Lan-young delivered her welcome speech. Chairperson Mrs. Park Geun-ryung, gave a congratulatory address.

Sessions 1 and 2 were chaired by Vice-president Hong Sung-soon. Mr. Cho Yook-hyun from the Korea Society Education Institution gave a theme presentation on "Women and Spirituality, and True Family," and Ms. Kim Eun-kyung from Korea Women's Policy Research gave a presentation on "Women and MDGs." Sessions 3 and 4 were chaired by Vice-president Wang Gye-soon. Mr. Baek Hak-soon from the Sejong Institute talked about "Women and Unification" and Congresswoman (16th) Lee Yeon-sook gave her insight on "Women and Politics."

With various presentations, participants had a valuable time to wrap up the year 2011 and they had a chance to ponder upon women and spirituality, women and MDGs, and women politics and unification in the 21st century where women power is considered as a national competitiveness and active participation of women is required.
