7월19일 곡성군 군민회관에서 곡성군이 140명이 참석한 가운데 열렸다. 양희숙 회원의 사회를 시작으로 후지야마 게이꼬 지부장(곡성군)의 환영사에 이어 허남석 군수, 이상철 군의장, 김화중 전 장관(보건복지부)의 축사가 있었다. 손숙희 도지부장(전남)의 격려사, 이어 문난영 회장의주제로 강연이 진행되었다.

문난영 회장은 강연을 통해 ‘여성연합의 세계적인 활동과 더불어 21C를 여성의 감성으로 이끌어가는 를 만들어가자’고 메시지를 전했다.

이에 포럼에 참석하여 축사를 전한 김화중 전 장관(보건복지부)은 “이 먼 곡성에서 문난영회장님을 만나니 더욱 반가웠다는 인사와 더불어 지역에서 여성평화를 위해 노력하는 계기가 될 것 같다”고 말했다.

또한 기독교인으로 지역에서 다문화관련 활동을 하고 있는 김정숙 원장(이스튼 학원)은 “세계적인 활동을 하고 있는 본 연합과의 인연을 맺고 더욱 다양한 활동에 동참하고 싶다”는 의지를 전하기도 했다.

그 외에도 곡성지역 단체장들이 함께 하면서 이날의 포럼을 성황리에 끝마쳤다.

Jeonnam Gokseong Branch 21C Women Leaders Forum

The Gokseong County 21C Women Leaders Forum was held with 140 attending on July 19 at the Gokseong County Hall.

The forum started with MC Yang Hee-sook's greetings. The program included a welcome speech by the Gokseong branch manager, congratulatory messages from Heo Nam-seok subprefect and Lee Sang-cheol, mayor of Gokseong County, words of encouragement from the governor of Jeonnam Province Son Sook-hee, and president Moon Lan Young's main talk under the title of "Humankind, One Family in a Peace World."

In the lecture, President Moon gave the message for each woman to make "Herstory," together with WFWPI's global activities and the qualities for women in the 21st century to develop.

Kim Hwa-jung, former Minister of Health and Welfare, expressed in his reflection that this can be an opportunity for women to make efforts for peace in the region.

Kim Jung-sook, director of the Eastern Institute said she wants to make a strong relationship with WFWPI which is actively doing global activities and join in more various activities.

The forum ended in a great success with many inspired Gokseong leaders.
